Another "backpacker" trip. 30 days to discover Indonesia with its colors, its traditions, its culture... I began with the history of Java island starting from Yogyakarta with Borobudur ruins and Prambanan temples, then I took a closer look at Gunung Merapi, considered one of the 16 most dangerous volcanoes in the world, erupted for the last time in November 2010 causing several hundred deaths. After spending 3 wonderful days in the jungle on the Kalimantan Island to admire closely the Orangutans in the Natural Park of Tanjung Puting , it was the turn of the Sulawesi island and Toraja animist tribes with their colorful funeral sacrifices. A bit raw event perhaps, but undoubtedly unique in its kind. After a few days relaxing on the Togean islands beaches and one last visit to the cultural capital of Bali, Ubud village, to pamper me for a couple of days in one of the dozens of wonderful SPA, I returned home.
A journey of 150,000 km around the world meeting associations, foundations, government agencies and parents of people with intellectual disabilities, to allow them all the know deeply the concept of Ethic Hotel-Down-Load Method and replicate it in their land. A journey to meet, learn, move and get excited!
